Posted for duty/enlisted at London 29 October 1915, grade A1. (Also reported as enlisted 13 April 1916 (?) at Winchester). ASC Horse Transport. A Postman (GPO, London) in civil life, and married, aged 40 and 4 months when discharged (demobilised and transferred to the Army Z Reserve 23 March 1919). Home address 44 Kingswood Road, Fulham, London SW6.  Served 2 years 351 days, of which 2 years 116 days (August 1916 to January 1919) were spent in Salonika. Marked on casualty form.as transferred to reg.[ular] ASC. Corps Trade and Rate 7th. Disembarked Salonika 23 August 1916, with 37th Reserve Park then 800 Company (ASC HT Local Auxiliary Companies: a unit responsible for local transport services). 20 December 1916 (the date of formation of the unit) he joined from 238 Company [formerly 37th Reserve Park]. 27 October 1917 awarded first Good Conduct Badge. 29 October 1918 with 800 Company, War Pay Increment to 3 [Shillings?] a day. To 28th General Hospital 12 December 1918, invalided to UK aboard HMT Magdalena 31 December 1918.

Diagnosed with Malaria attributable to service (September 1918, Salonika and four attacks with four hospitalisations (28th General Hospital, Salonika, northwest of the city) were noted) but no disablement identified and so was not granted a pension.
