Toffee boiler of 42 Waterloo Road, Brighouse. 26 years old. Enlisted 1 July 1916, to West Riding Depot same day; transferred 4 July to 3rd Btn. To France with 2nd Btn 15 November 1916. Transferred to 9/KOYLI 3 December 1917. GSW left shoulder (shell wound left chest), France, 4.10.1917. Compulsorily transferred 18th Gloucester Regiment, rated B.ii 13 June 1918, employed on light fatigues, then transferred 18 B.T.F. depot, Canterbury. Time spent with Corps of Dragoons and 2/2 Lovat Scouts before final transfer to ASC Motorised Transport (transferred to RASC 16 December 1918) and demobilisation.

Medal condition:

Very  Fine. Much loss of finish.
